Museum Barberini Potsdam
The newly constructed Museum Barberini, opened in 2017 by art collector Hasso Plattner, is located in a reconstructed building of the Palais Barberini, which was destroyed during World War II, at the Alten Markt in Potsdam. The museum showcases art from the Old Masters to contemporary art, with a focus on Impressionism.

Potsdam Museum – Forum for Art and History
The Potsdam Museum at the Alten Markt is a city museum that deals with the 1000-year history of Potsdam. It is located in the former Old Town Hall and today houses over 250,000 objects related to Potsdam’s city history. In addition to the permanent exhibition “Potsdam: A City Makes History,” there are regularly changing, scientifically based, and excitingly staged special exhibitions at the Potsdam Museum.

The MINSK Art House
Located in the former terrace restaurant “Minsk” on Brauhausberg, the MINSK Art House is a museum of contemporary art. The opening is scheduled for September 24th and 25th, 2022. Built in the 1970s in the modernist style of the GDR, Minsk was used as a café until 2000. From September onwards, it will exhibit, among other things, artworks from the former GDR, which are part of the Hasso Plattner Collection.

Natural History Museum Potsdam
The Potsdam Natural History Museum is located on Breite Straße in a former estate house of the Zauche region. Visitors can admire the wildlife of Brandenburg, an aquarium with Brandenburg’s fish, as well as exhibitions on topics such as animals in the garden, animal life in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and In the footsteps of humans. Additionally, there are regularly changing special exhibitions for variety.

Film Museum Potsdam
Located in the former royal stables of the Prussian kings – the Marstall of the Potsdam City Palace – is Germany’s oldest film museum. It is only a few meters away from the Alten Markt.
The Film Museum focuses primarily on the over 100-year history of the largest European media center in Babelsberg. In addition to the permanent exhibition “Dream Factory: 100 Years of Film in Babelsberg,” changing exhibitions always invite visitors. The museum also has a cinema.

The House of Brandenburg-Prussian History (HBPG) is located in the listed former royal coach horse stable at Neuer Markt in the center of Potsdam.
Today, the HBPG is an exhibition house, event forum, and education center. They describe themselves as a living forum for engaging with the history of Brandenburg-Prussia. They present exhibitions and offer a diverse educational program as well as numerous events.
